Shuckin’ Shack Oyster Bar

Shuckin' Shack Oyster Bar is a roll-back to the East Coast of the past - a simple approach to all the things we love - food, drinks, fun, and gathering with friends and family. They represent the fond memories everyone has about heading to the beach. Family vacations, get-togethers, weekend getaways, or just day trips filled with salt air, toes in the sand, and of course, delicious seafood. When the Founders opened the first Shuckin' Shack in 2007, their goal was to provide the highest quality seafood and drinks while removing all the preconceived notions of only getting great food a few times per year. Thanks to their focus on service and the guest experience, customers know to head to Shuckin' Shack for 'a good shuckin' time!'.

Why US?
  • Next to No National Competition

  • The start-up costs for Shuckin' Shack are significantly lower than many other casual dining restaurants.

  • The distribution and availability of their fresh, sustainable seafood products are without limits.

  • Streamlined Products and Operations

  • Shuckin' Shack owners LOVE working in a place where they can be themselves, let their freak flags fly, and bring a unique brand of fun into their customers' lives every day.

  • Obsessed with Success

  • Training

“Shuck U!” (Our exclusive training program, that is!) consists of a minimum of 64 hours of classroom and 80 hours on-the-job training at our affiliate location in Wilmington, NC. It covers Shuckin’ Shack branding, vendors, finances, human resources, sales, inventory management, front and back of house operations, customer service, menus, POS systems, and marketing.

  • Ongoing Support

After the initial training, we will continue to support our Franchise Owners through weekly communication from corporate team members, video training, shopper reports, and local store action plans. The community feeling of support from the family of Franchise Owners is more than unique to our system.

  • Field Support

Shuckin’ Shack’s success is all about “location, location, location!” Our dedicated real estate team, along with our nationwide partners, will devote the highest level of expertise in assisting with site selection. After the lease is signed, we assist with the build-out and design of the location. We have an experienced team to ensure the restaurant meets our standards, which includes a Project Manager, Architect, General Contractor, Equipment Manager, and an Interior Designer. When Owners are ready to open, we will assist with the soft and grand opening, and once they are up and running, our dedicated Franchisee Manager will make regular visits.

  • Marketing

Marketing is key to the success of this business and we strive to provide all the necessary tools for our Owners to grow and attract customers. In addition to grand opening marketing, we provide social media support, PR, advertising and media buy assistance, an annual promotional calendar with quarterly marketing directives and promotions, an in-house graphic designer, and public and media relations. Our ongoing marketing fee is 1.5% of Gross Sales paid bi-weekly.

Ideal Candidate

They are looking for people who love starting up conversations with total strangers. They are the kind of people others depend on to liven up a party and make people feel at ease. While previous restaurant experience is a plus, it is not required. Some other skills and characteristics they look for include:

  • A Brain - When it comes to running a business, this isn't their first rodeo. They've got management skills, know how to communicate their ideas to others, and know a thing or two about the hospitality industry

  • A Heart - They care - they mean, REALLY care - about their community and the people in it, are abkle to connect with people in their neighborhood, and have the drive to make a difference in their corner of the world

  • Courage - They're not afraid to take risks and try new approaches and have an uncanny ability to think on their feet. (Bonus points if they're one of the brave men and women who've served our country in the U.S. military - our heroes!)
